Ghost Boat

If you want excitment, try Ice boating. The ice boats in this photo are on Ghost Lake west of Calgary on 1A highway. This lake is a ice boating hotspot most any winter weekend. They can achieve speeds 3 times the windspeed. They consist of a light frame with 3 steel runners, a seat and a huge sail. Ghost Lake is ideal because it rarely has snow on it due to the constant westerlys out of the Rocks(The Canadian Rockies) to the west.
