Wing Power


I suprised these Mallards on the Lagoon in the Sanctuary, with the result being the sky full of ducks making a dash for freedom. You would think they would be used to the presence of visitors, however once wild, always wild I suspect.
The male Mallard, with his iridescent green head and chestnut breast, is the classic duck of Alberta. Mallards can be seen every day of the year in our province, as long as there is open water available to them.
