The Fortress

The mountain in this photo is Fortress Mountain located in Kananaskis Country. The north face in this photo gives the mountain its name with its fortress like appearence. I have hiked into Fortress Lake which is tucked under the eastern cliff of the Fortress and has excellent cutthroat fishing. The lake in this photo is Wedge pond and lies just off of Highway 40 in the Kananaskis Valley.
