Killer Mailboxes

Hard to believe, that the mailboxes in this photo are killers. I read a article lately that rural mailboxes pose considerable risk to motorists. In the United States, as many as 100 people die each year in collisions with rural mailboxes. Motorists die after clipping the mailbox. At that point the mailbox becomes a projectile and sails through the windshield, striking someone. There was no danger that I would stike one of the mailboxes in this photo that I shot lately, as I was enjoying the day in rural Alberta at a much reduced speed.
