He Left All And Followed Him

You will have to bear with me in my time spent at the Union Cemetery yesterday and this morning very early. I knew I had to return at first light to get the shots posted here. The old Chapel and Mortuary in the last photo is a very cool building dating back to 1908. At that time when graves were dug by hand, you had a problem with grave digging in the winter months. After the long good-bye, caskets were lowered into the mortuary in the basement to await the spring. The bodies were then placed in the ground. I also found a most interesting part of the cemetery containing no markers. It contains the remains of one thousand of Calgary's homeless, destitute, unwanted and...executed from a earlier time.
