Muledeer Buck

I see a lot of deer when I am out in the various urban parks around the city, however they are usually Does. This photo I shot is of a Muledeer Buck relaxing during his early morning foraging. I spotted him in heavy cover in Fish Creek Park. Buck deer are primarily solitary animals except during the rut which takes place during November and into December. After the breeding season, he will shed his antlers and a new set will began to grow in the spring.
