Highway 40

I thought that I would show you a couple of photos that I shot recently on the Kananaskis Highway. I got up this morning and realized that it is December 1st. That reminded me that the winter-gates have been closed over the Highwood Pass. Oh-well, I enjoyed the drive through the pass several weeks ago. The first photo was shot as we drove over the summit at 7200 ft. These Bighorn Ewes were on the shoulder of the road and oblivious of my truck as they enjoyed this lick on Highway 40. I plan on a trek down the Smith Dorrien Highway that takes you from Canmore to Kananaskis Lakes in the near future to capture some images of the dog sled teams that run on Spray Lakes, carrying tourists during the winter months.
