Arriva Arrives

Canon EOS 20D with 10-22 @ 10mm

I had my camera sitting in my lap shooting upward through the open window of my truck in this photo. Your looking upward at Calgary's newest tower the Arriva 1 which is the first of a complex of three residential towers. Arriva 1had its topping out ceremony this week as the tower reached its maximum height of 35 floors. That's the beauty of a extreme wide angle lens, as you only need to point it in the general direction and take the shot.

This photo was also taken out the open window of my truck window looking southeast past the Arriva 1 Tower towards Stampede Park and overlooking the area where Arriva 2 is to rise.

This photo shows the Arriva 1 Tower in the early morning as the sun rises over the eastern horizon.

It does not matter in which direction you look in the city of Calgary there is a construction crane in your face. The Arriva 1 is located in Victoria Park just north of Stampede Park. Arriva 2 & 3 are slated for construction shortly in this historic neighbourhood in Calgary's beltline district.
