Rattlesnake Country
Banks Lake, part of the Columbia Basin Project in Washington State. This 27 mile long reservoir formed by a feeder cannel, which is fed by six 65,000-horsepower pumps. These huge pumps lift water from Lake Roosevelt, formed by Grand Coulee Dam. We camped on a island in this lake which was quite unique with lush green vegetation from irrigation, and dry hot prairie bordering the campground with rattlesnakes in abundance.
