Trembling aspen
I always enjoy seeing grooves of Trembling aspen, as I travel around the Rockies. I will almost always stop and take photos of nice stands of them. Aspen are part of the willow family and people tend to confuse them with white birch. To differentiate between the two, the bark tends to be peeling and often pinkish on the birch, solidly attached on the aspen. This stand of aspen, I photographed near Kananaskis Village, on Highway 40.
