Yukness Ledge

These narrow rock ledges above sheer drops with breathtaking views of Lake O'Hara ( Archives Oct/05 Lake O'Hara ) below, are well worth the effort. We were on a circular alpine route, combining Wiwaxy Gap, Yukness Ledge and All Souls' Prospect. These three alpine routes connect naturally, giving outstanding views of lakes and encircling mountains in the Lake O'Hara region of Yoho National Park. The three alpine routes( Archives Nov/05 Lost ) can be done in one day if you want to see as many sights as possible. However you will enjoy yourself more if you only do one or two of these routes per day. If you expand the photo, you can see the Lake O'Hara Lodge where we started from on the peninsula at the far end of the lake. The meadow that lies to the NW of the lodge in the photo, has the Elizabeth Parker Hut ( Archives Dec/06 Elizabeth Parker Hut ) located there belonging to The Alpine Club of Canada.
