Lillian Lake

This is one of my favorite backcountry lakes in Kananaskis Country. Over the years we have hiked in to this lake many times. I am a avid fly fisherman as you may know if you have visited my website. I have caught many fine cutthroat trout in this lake. There is a backcountry campground located at the NW corner beneath the ridge in the photo. Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep may be observed grazing on the slopes. At one time this 6 km hike up Galatea Creek ( Jerry's webpage, Galatea Creek trail ) was quite difficult, however with a suspension bridge over the Kananaskis River and log bridges at the many Galatea Creek crossings, the trail is not difficult anymore.
