Prairie to Mountains

This is Southern Alberta ( Archives Dec/05 Legends ) at its best. What is unique about this area is the fact there are no foothills. You go from prairie to instant mountains in a 1 kilometer stretch. We were visiting Waterton National Park. The park gates are in the V to the right side of the photo, as the prairie ends and the mountains rise up in front of you. The park is to die for. Wonderful lakes, hiking trails, and should I say it out loud, Alberta's highest population of Grizzly Bears.
