Rocky Mountain Pasques
I was up early this morning and after grabing a coffee, I headed west towards the Bow Valley corridor west of Calgary, planning on doing some fly fishing on the Bow River. I entered Bow Valley Provincial Park that borders the Bow River on the south bank. I enjoy fly fishing along this stretch of river, however the wind almost flatened me upon exiting my truck. I thought I would grab my camera and take a short walk around Middle Lake while waiting for the wind to subside. I had a enjoyable time as I discovered these Pasque flowers ( prairie crocus, not really ) growing everywhere there was a south facing slope. They are one of the earliest showy flowers in the Rockies and only a few days behind the melting snow. I then set up my QRP station ( website-QRP Special ) and shot some photos for a antenna project I just completed.
